HTaP ALGERIA focuses its efforts on three core missions to support patients and their families.
Listen to the needs of patients and their families, share essential information, and facilitate guidance toward the right healthcare resources and institutions.
Build spaces for exchange, connection, and experience sharing to foster mutual support among patients, families, and loved ones.
Raise awareness about the reality of living with the condition, inform the public, and advocate for patient needs with key stakeholders.
Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH) is a rare condition characterized by an abnormal increase in blood pressure within the pulmonary arteries. This elevated pressure places an increased workload on the heart, particularly affecting the right ventricle.
PAH requires a specialized medical evaluation to confirm the diagnosis, identify underlying causes, and establish a personalized treatment plan.
Breathlessness, particularly during physical exertion, can be a key indicator of the condition.
Unusual and persistent tiredness may also be experienced.
Diagnosis relies on targeted medical tests and often requires evaluation at a specialized center.
Pulmonary Pressure
Abnormally high pressure in the pulmonary arteries.
Right Ventricle
The right side of the heart experiences an increased strain.

PAH and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension
of patients in this study presented Group 1 PAH

Data from a prospective study conducted in Algeria
National epidemiological data on PAH remains fragmented and dispersed. Consequently, these figures do not constitute a definitive estimate of the current prevalence across the entire Algerian population.
Behind every diagnosis, there is a person, a family, and a daily life to rebuild. HTaP ALGERIA works to ensure that patients do not face the disease alone.
